Where in the world: Penang, Malaysia
Thanks to the suggestion from one of our Facebook fans, this month we are heading to Penang Malaysia. Know as the Pearl of the Orient, and a melting pot of cultures, religions, and food.
Yes, that’s right, explore the newly transformed street scapes of George Town. Blending humor and historical facts, through unique welded iron caricatures and painted walls mimicking life in the city.

KEK LOK SI TEMPLE
This heritage treasure is not only the center for Chinese culture and Buddha teaching, it offers a beautiful display of millions of magnificent images of Buddha and hundreds of beautiful carvings, sculptures and murals that cover the interior and exterior halls of the temple.
While this may scare some travelers, as we have all heard a few horror stories or two about street food. The same can’t be said for Penang. TIME Magazine declared that Penang has the “Best Street Food in Asia”.
STREET OF HARMONY
The ‘Street of Harmony” is a spiritual home of different cultures and faiths all in peaceful co-existence, standing side by side for the last 180 years. You’ll find the Kapitan Keling Mosque, the Kuan Yun Chinese temple, Saint Georges church, Hindu Sri Maha Mariamman temple and more.
